Ingredients

  • ½ cup heavy cream to whip, chilled
  • ½ cup of toasted wheat flour *
  • ¾ cup cream cheese cold (at refrigerator temperature, not frozen)
  • ½ cup caster sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • Side dishes: cookies or fruit spreads

Instructions

  • Place the cold heavy cream in the bowl of the electric mixer, and beat on medium speed, until firm.
  • Next, add the cream cheese, and continue beating until no lumps remain. If necessary, peel off any chunks of cream cheese that have stuck to the wall of the mixing bowl.
  • Finally, add the toasted flour, the powdered sugar and the vanilla essence. Stir for a couple of minutes until the mixture is smooth.
  • Now is the time to add the chocolate chips. However, with the mixer the chips can break and stain the mixture. Therefore, it is better to integrate them with a wooden spoon. Gently stir for a couple of minutes.
  • Pour the mixture into the serving bowl and you're done. For best results, refrigerate half an hour before serving. Serve with fruit and cookies.

Notes

To toast the wheat flour, you just need to spread the flour over a large skillet, and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally until the flour is toasted. You will know it is ready because it takes on a light golden color. When cool, pass the flour through a sieve, or a strainer. You can also buy toasted wheat flour at the grocery store.
